  1. 1. Have a user menu (NDN.MNU) that contains:

    >1 Bug
       echo %1
       type %1

    2. Select some files, press F2 and launch the "Bug" entry.

%1 will be a file named 'd' in NDN's home directory, and the contents of this file is not the list of selected files in the active panel, but the selected file in the passive panel.

Since in my usage I rely heavily on NDN's list feature, I am forced to revert to beta 4950 until this issue is fixed.

    Hope this helps,

    Dan

  2. I viewed this file on Win2K on a desktop and WinXP on a laptop and can provide further config info if ncessary.

So when I press F3 on the file, NDN reads it from the disk, then waits about 5 seconds before displaying the first page from the file. It would be very interesting to see what causes this behavior, as NDN can successfully view the first page of much larger files instantly.

    Hope that helps,

    Dan

  3. NDN can't enter an archive inside another archive if Configuration -> System Setup -> Internal Viewer is UNchecked, regardless of the setting of "[ENTER] execs in VFS/archives".

The reason I have "Internal viewer" unchecked is because I like to launch a graphic viewer for JPG, PNG etc. by just pressing F3 instead of Alt+F3.

    Hope that helps,

    Dan

  4. 1. Copy NDN's ENGLISH.LNG to NDN.BUG

    2. View NDN.BUG in a 78x20 window.

    3. Cycle to Dump mode (F4).

    4. Press Ctrl+PageDown. You'll see "Screen Saver Setu" (BTW: typo?)

    5. Place the cursor under 'v' and press Delete.

Instead of deleting in the normal way (shifting the text following the cursor one position to the left), NDN deletes backwards.

  5. 1. Get a file longer than NDN's internal buffer. ENGLISH.LNG is a good example. Copy it as NDN.BUG

    2. View NDN.BUG in Dump mode, in a 78x20 viewer windo (e.g. with NDN set to 80x25, viewer maximized)

    3. Press Ctrl+PageDown.

    4. One line above the cursor, you will see "Screen Save Setu" (BTW, typo?)

    5. Put the cursor under 'c' and start pressing Insert.

    6. Apparently random green block will appear at the end of the file. By the time you pressed Insert the 9th time, you will see the garbage character ($E0, α)

  6. 1. Create a file with the following contents:

    abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

    2. View the file in dump mode.

    3. Place the cursor under 'o', then Shift+LeftArrow until 'k' is selected.

    4. Press Del. NDN deletes correctly 'klmn' and the cursor is under 'o'.

    5. Now press Shift+RightArrow until the cursor is under 't'. Press Del.

NDN deletes correctly, but the cursor is under 'y'.

  7. 1. Go to an FTP site, in a folder with many files, and place the curson on a file

    2. Very, very quickly press F5, Enter, Enter.

This will stop the transfer and apparently also the retrieval of the directory listing so you'll end up with a blank FTP panel. Ctrl+R to refresh doesn't work.

AH, basides fixing this issue, can you please implement Ctrl+R for FTP? Just in case the transfer somehow goes wrong or the contents of the FTP folder is updated externally.

    Thanks,

    Dan

  8. I tried to set an alarm for January 1st 2006 and noticed that the alarm was set in the list for 16.01.2005.

I'm trying to replace Outlook as a PIM and use NDN instead, so the calendar feature becomes quite important.

    Nice features to have:

+ snooze/postpone button (by given number of days, hours, minutes)

+ large text field for notes (useful to enter URLs, confirmation numbers, addresses and well, just notes)

+ some indication as to whether a certain alarm has already occured or not (e.g. a divider between alarms that have already occured, i.e. completed tasks, and the ones that will occur; or a checkmark to the left of each alarm, indicating its state)

+ generally, mimicking Outlook would be a good idea

+ option to disable sound. In that case, however, NDN needs to pause somehow before displaying the alarm window (the current sound does that very well) because if the user was typing and the alarm pops up, the characters will end up being received by the alarm window (particularly the space key, activating the OK button)

    Hope that helps,

    Dan

  9. wrong_highlighting_if_no_EOL_before_EOF.png

    1. Probably any NDN.HGL will do, but just to make sure, start with the NDN 2.15.4950 beta published on ndn.muxe.com

    2. Download this HTM file:

    http://home.arcor.de/dandv/bugs/ndn/wrong_..._before_EOF.htm

    3. View the file and press F2 to enable wrapping. Notice how lines that wrap are incorrectly highlighted in the 'comment' color up until the last column of the last comment.

    4. If you add an EOL before the EOF in the file, the bug won't be reproduced.

  10. 1. When you create a subdirectory in an FTP directory, you are not asked for confirmation as when you are when creating a dir on a local drive (with NDN 2.15.4564, this 'bug' is a feature actually, because NDN requests directory confirmation even when you expressly press F7 :-)

    2. After creating the director, NDN does not put the file cursor over it.
