  1. Colors

I can only GUESS what you guys are talking about, since you didn't use frikkin ENGLISH but I think you're talking about the background having a wrong color after you change some colors for the NDN console. That appears to be a bug in Windows 2000 (at least, probably also in XP). The solution is to change the color for BLACK to be RGB 0,0,1. Hope that helps, Dan
  2. MS office ? (*.doc ; *.xls)

Windows 2000: rtf, doc, xls, ppt,rc,pdf { start "" "!:!\!.!" } (PS: thanks for using English as well!)
  3. Select one or more files and archive them using Shift+F1 to "a&b.zip". All files in the current directory will be added to the archive. Does & stand for something special?
  4. > New drive has appear when I use flash-drive. But list of drives doesn't update ;) I usually restart NDN (Cttrl+Alt+X) when I insert my USB flash drive. > Could you update drive list by windows event or every time when user press Alt-{F1 | F2} Both would be nice. > Could you update filepanel automaticly when some files updates? I remember AH decided expressly against this feature long time ago. It might be desired by some, so making it optional seems a good idea. > For example: my programm write logs but filesize and file timestamp aren't change and I have to reenter dir. You can press Ctrl+R.
  5. The main reason I quit supporting DNOSP is because the stubborn forum operators kept using Russian, which is a very nice language that I and many others do not speak. Please use English, even if you think your English is very poor. Thank you, Dan
  6. Problem with start dir and some others bugs

    1. Make sure none of the files in the NDN dir is read-only. 6. You mean you want to go the the FTP panel from the Alt+F1 list? Check "Alt-F1/F2: Show QuickDirs" in Options -> File Manager -> Setup
  7. The most accurate would be to compute total file sizes and how much has been read so far.
  8. Scenario: You find files across directories, select some of them, and want to apply an operation to that list of files. So you define an NDN MNU entry like >1 Process list of files in active panel process.bat %1 The problem is the files in %1 have no paths. Fortunately, there is an option to enable this, "!:!\!.! in Listfiles" but it's disabled by default. It seems safer to have it checked by default in new NDN releases. PS: What does the Interface option "Don't switch in file-panels" do?
  9. Maybe "Switch only among file panels" is a more intuitive wording? Or better yet, "Switch to other file panel only"?
  10. 1. In NDN's directory, copy hgroups.ini to hgroups.bak 2. Modify one of the highlight groups via NDN (Options -> File Manager -> Highlight Groups) 3. Notice hgroups.bak was deleted and two hgroups.ini files are shown Hope that helps, Dan Dascalescu
  11. Yes, the second ini file disappears. I think it would be safer to use a unique temporary file (in the %TEMP% folder, like $NDN.*) so as not to overwrite any user files. I had actually made a legitimate .bak file of hgroups.ini, and NDN wiped it out :-(
  12. 1. Disable "Autoscope detect" in Editor 2. Edit a file, select some text 3. F7, press 'S' or 'G' to select 'Scope' or 'Global'. Notice that they both select the same item.
  13. 1:30 - 0:40 = 0:50 1:00:00 - 1 = 59:59
  14. View this big XML in NDN. Even with word wrapping off, you must wait for NDN 10+ times as long as when editing the same file. "MultilineComment" was disabled in NDN.HGL. I think this happens due to the "Mix" type of CR/LFs.
  15. new beta: v2.15.3621

Also true when opening existing file (Shift+F4 c:\autoexec.bat), although no editing happened. Should only be true when creating a new file.
  16. 1. Create a folder c:\temp 2. In the right panel, go to some other folder than c:\ or c:\temp 3. In the left panel, launch the command "cd c:\temp" (handled internally by NDN) 4. Notice that the path shown at the top of the left panel is c:\temp, with a LOWERCASE 'c' 5. In the left panel, press Alt+F2, C. 6. Notice that the right panel doesn't go to c:\temp, but to C:\ 7. In the left panel, launch the command "cd C:\temp" (notice the uppercase 'C') 8. In the left panel, press Alt+F2, C. 9. Notice the right panel correctly going to c:\temp This bug happens on all sorts of occasions but this is the only way I was able to systematically reproduce it. At all times, the common element is that the drive shown in the path is in lowercase instead of the usual uppercase. Hope that helps, Dan Dascalescu
  17. 1. Have the following directory structure: maindir\1\bug\1.txt maindir\2\bug\2.txt 2. In maindir\, Recursively search for "bug\*" 3. For each of the two results in the Find panel, click F3. Notice you can't view any file! Click Shift+Enter on each file. Notice NDN doesn't place the cursor on the file; instead it stops above the 'bug' directory. It gets worse: with the find results panel open, create or delete a directory in the other panel. Some of the Find results will disappear! The bug is inherited from DNOSP. Hope that helps, Dan Dascalescu
  18. OK, but it happens in DNOSP.
  19. Problem with replace in editor

50 seconds on my 3400MHz machine with "Show replacement" disabled in the Replace dialog box. What's more interesting is that if you have a file with 16000 '.' on a single line, NDN won't advance the progress bar at all. It will stay at 0%. Does NDN count the line number vs. total number of lines in the file?
  20. To reproduce, press Tab, Alt+F1, Esc, Alt+F1 in a file panel. Same for Esc, Esc, Alt+F2, Esc, Alt+F2
  21. delete ndn.dsk and all be ok! Just deleted it, the bug still happens.
  22. Go to NDN's folder (mine is D:\NDNW32) and press Ctrl+Alt+X. hgroups.ini will appear twice!! Bug did not appear in 2.15.2045
  23. 1. Confirmation -> Open New Window: Ask 2. Press F4 over the NDN.SMP file 3. Type something in the file 4. Press Alt+Q. A NEW Smartpad will be open 5. Type something in the smartpad and press Esc You'll get an error that NDN can't write to the SMP file.
  24. 1. In NDN.EXT, add an entry for 'txt' like: txt (notepad.exe "!.!") 2. Shift+Enter on a .txt file and don't press any key aftert that 3. While in Notepad, notice that the NDN status bar shows that Shift is pressed. 4. Exit Notepad using the mouse 5. Notice Shift seems still pressed and if you press UpArrow, NDN will retrieve the last command line. Shift status should perhaps be re-read after running external tools.
  25. Creating Archives...

I think, you should keep current behaviour. As dandv, I create archives in current dir only; and I like automatical archive naming w/o path. This just happened to me today: I had "MakeArc in passive panel" DISabled, so I never worried about where my archives got created. Then, in the passive panel I had an archive of the original version of an important file. And in the active panel I had a modified copy of the important file. I wanted to make a new archive of the modified version, so I pressed Shift+F1. But NDN set the OTHER panel as the archive destination and my original version got overwritten inside the archive. So if NDN is to be consistent, please disable Shift+F1 to passive panel if "MakeArc in passive panel" is disabled, even if the passive panel is an archive. After all, if you want to copy a file from the active panel to the passive panel, you can simply press F5, not Sihft+F1.
