I'm also very excited to see the Linux port! This is something I've always wanted for Linux!

And another update! That guy is just amazing! I'm surprised this is not a part of most Linux distributions already as it's so much nicer then MC, and vastly more user friendly for the Linux Noob that is stuck in the command line and needs to get around!

I'm only guessing but I'd bet there's money to be had in DN on Linux in integrating large distro and maintenance featurs... I'll definitely mention it on the µLinux forums -- but I'd bet there's even money to be made in integrating DN with a big Linux Distro maintenance features.

My last wish is to one day see a browser like pico or lynx integrated in to DN, but I'm very happy with it as it is... Thank you again and again Stefan for maintaining this site and updating this fantastic application!

:)

Hi hoak!

thanks a lot for the nice words, it is always good to hear that

i don't maintain the site though, this is done by the MUXE team

(Denis aka Necromancer and Daniil)

i guess NDN is not stable enough to be integrated into a distribution yet

and, NDN seems not very known accross the net, at least a search

for newer version links/reviews shows that

i really look forward to work more on the LINUX port as NDN is still obviously

more DOS/W32 oriented in many parts (file attributes, etc...)

(i am still working on system independent problems,

a look at the end of the ah_news.txt file in the archives gives an overview

of what is to be done/planned)

again, thank you :)

and: im always open for comments, improvement ideas and bug reports

even if they get posted repeatedly accidentely

Stefan/AH

I think to get really known for Linux you have to get it on Freshmeat... Once there the Mini-Linux Distributions will pick up on it and go crazy, it just takes time for the right person to pick it up and rave up what a cool find NDN is.

There are a couple curses text GUI projects but they're very primitive compared to all the features in NDN...

I think for best results you should probably categorize NDN as a text based GUI, as something like 'File-Manager' rather trivializes all NDN's capabilities and potential, to get other programmers interested.

I know it will happen, it said the same thing about muLinux when it seemed virtually invisible and it got press in dozen magazines and is a pretty famous tiny Linux distro now. NDN has even more potential to be a bigger deal! You'll see if you're patient.

:)

P.S. I have a Freshmeat Account if you'd like me to submit the NDN project so it's listed there...

Well I got started but there's specific developer info they want:

· Full project name

· Name of author

· Email address

· Default branch information

· Branch name

· Branch description

· License

· CVS tree

Just to list a few -- some of this stuff is not mandatory but some is... If you want I can past a full list here -- but registration on FreshMeat is fast and free -- and as a Developer it gets your name up on the site as well.

Looks like they serve the Win32 crowd now too so that's even better

hi !

uff, branch?

?

license?

hm, NDN does not have an up-to-date license

guess i should try to work one out

cvs tree?

i hope this isnt required :P

seems like we need to wait a bit until missing information is available?!
